Be your own Boss
Yes it is a giant step from relying on someone else to find enough work to pay you day after day to leaping out into the big bad world and doing it all yourself. Many dream about it few take the giant step, I dreamt about it for many years, then at last made the decision to run my own business.
It is a lot easier than you think, especially if you can plan it in advance.
Why do it?
You are dissatisfied with your lot? Need more money than the regular job offers? Feel unfulfilled? Doesn't really matter why, you just know that there must be a better way and it is not as impossible as it may seem at the moment.
It is much better to start while you are still employed. Develop your ideas part time and find out the snags while you have money coming in. Build up capital and contacts. Develop some extra skills. That way when you take the plunge you are well prepared.
It is not easy to start with, you need to develop a positive attitude to life and decide that you will not be put down. The first three years are the worst as it can take this length of time to get back to the same income you had in the bad old days of being an employee.
I now have had my own business since 1993, being self employed is a great feeling, a positive and enthusiastic approach can give a great new lifestyle, especially as your tax bill will be lower!
So now with this new positive attitude to life lets start looking at alternatives to working for a boss.
First of all write down all things that you can do, list all types of jobs you have done, the paid and unpaid, and voluntarily and your hobbies.
You may have come across consultants and probably heard how much consultants get paid and maybe thought wow if only I had their education I could do that. Well you already have that education, you have a skill that others want, they just only want it for a short time, so the skill is to exploit it in several different places.
Just go through that list and think of all the things you have advised or shown or discussed with other people and remember how they were impressed by your knowledge.
Doing it as a consultant is the same except you get paid to give advice whereas a normal guy does it for free.
Maybe eBay or Amazon, interests you, whilst a lot of hype is generated about them you can make a lot of money but you need to know how to go about it.
I have some free advice on both these subjects on my web site.
You will see lots of adverts for showing how you can make a fortune working from home but fortunes do not happen overnight, they do need working on. Effort does pay off.
If you still to want to work for yourself tread carefully don’t spend vast fortunes on packages that offer tens of thousands per week without any effort. Just remember, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is too good to be true, so look elsewhere.
Focus your thoughts on the future, the past is past and cannot be changed, but in deciding where you want to go in the future, you will increase your chances of getting there. Always aim high, set monthly and yearly realistic targets check regularly that you are on track and you too can make it a success.
If you want some free advice and guidance on to ways to work for yourself without spending a fortune then have a look at my web site.
In the comfort of your own home you can then read of exciting ways to develop your own business and only when you feel comfortable with it do you need to do anything more about it.
This could be the big chance you have been waiting for.
